Charter Boat Improvements and Maintenance

March is the month we get King’s Ransom lifted out of the water so we can complete annual maintenance. The weather on the morning of the lift out could not have been better, calm water, bright sunshine and feeling warm for the time of year.  It is just a short sail from Haslar Marina to Victoria Quay through Portsmouth Harbour.

We like to carry out as much of the maintenance as we can.  It’s a great way to know every inch of your boat.  After a pressure wash of the hull by the team at Victoria Quay I start cleaning brass propellors bringing them back to a bright golden shine whilst Dan preps the hull ready for the antifoul.  This year we opted for Hempel Black antifoul and we are delighted with the results.  All the anodes are replaced and the boat has had been polished from top to bottom.

We are also replacing the old teak deck with brand new permateek decking, a high quality synthetic teak flooring which looks like real wood. It is non slip and is low maintenance, stain resistant and simple to clean.  We can’t wait to see the finished deck which will be completed in the next few weeks.

We have worked extremely hard to ensure our charter boat is sparkling and prepared to welcome the first guests of 2025 charter season on the Solent.
