Enjoy the excitement and exhilaration of the Solent

FAQs

We are very fortunate to have Portsmouth Harbour Station direct from London just 10 minutes’ walk away. This enjoys the beautiful views of the harbour on the little green ferry crossing the harbour to Gosport.

King’s Ransom is based in Haslar Marina, Gosport in the historic Portsmouth Harbour. For your SAT NAV, our postcode is PO12 1NU.

We are fully compliant with the MCA/RYA code of compliance rules. These restrict us to carrying a maximum of 12 guests. From our experience, we have found the optimum number of guests to be 10 persons to achieve the best experience.

Your safety and enjoyment are always our prime concern. If our skipper considers the weather to be detrimental to the safety of the Guests or vessel, we simply postpone the event to a mutually agreeable date. Generally, we can foresee the bad weather using various specialist websites, we would normally contact you the day before the event.

Some of our guests do like to swim off the back of the boat in good weather. If you would like to include this in your itinerary, please consult with the skipper who will make the final decision as to where and whether it will be safe.

For your safety, your skipper will be qualified in accordance with the MCA requirement.

For your comfort, our boat has been designated as a public place and as such we are unable to allow smoking on the boat.

We would ask that you wear sensible footwear preferably with light-coloured soles and please remember to bring something warmer in case the weather deteriorates.

Some guests bring their own picnic lunch, others tend to prefer local hospitality.
